The objective of War is for the Player to have a higher card than the Dealer. War is dealt with one deck of cards, and the cards are re-shuffled after each hand. If the Player's card is higher, then the Player wins 1:1 the original bet. In the case where the value of the Player's card and the Dealer's card is the same, the Player can either fold or choose to "go to War" by raising the bet - the raise must be equal to the original bet. If the Player folds, the amount bet is automatically lost.
If the Player raises, an amount equal to the original bet is added to the bet and both the Dealer and the Player receive three cards face down - these are 'burn cards' that do not come into play - and another card face-up. The highest face-up card wins.
In the case of a win, the Player receives 1:1 the amount bet plus the raise amount returned. The Player wins any ties after going to 'War'.
The Player's card is ranked higher than the Dealer's card.
The Dealer's card outranks the Player's card.
Clicking on the Deal button after placing a bet starts a new game.
Clicking on the Raise button will deal three "burn cards" and an additional final card to both the Player and the Dealer.
If the Player and the Dealer tie, the Player can fold and the game ends. The Player loses the amount bet.
