Winners vs. Losers: How to Tell the Difference
by Bodog Casino | Jul 16 2009
Nobody likes to lose.
NBA superstar LeBron James definitely doesn't like it. He recently didn't shake Dwight Howard’s hand after being knocked out of the Eastern Conference Finals and supposedly hid video footage of himself getting dunked on at his basketball camp.
You don't even have to watch sports to know which team is the loser after the game is over. Pro athletes generally wear a scowl on their face when they aren't able to pull out a win, and you'll lose count if you try to figure out how many times a pro has freaked during a post-game press conference.
But how can you tell when a
casino player is a winner or loser? You'll need to know if you don't want to be sitting next to someone who can put you under his dark cloud of bad luck and bad beats.
Winner/Loser Signs
The winners are easy to figure out: look for the guy with a stack of chips, some ladies, and a big, endless smile on his face.
The losers can be a little more difficult. Obviously a scowl like Clint Eastwood is an early indication. But we also think arms folded and blasé hand gestures (like tapping the table when you want to hit in
blackjack) are good signs.
More things to look out for are people who touch their face, people who walk like there's a crowbar up their ass, and, of course, those with barely enough chips to buy themselves a happy meal.
How to Act Like a Winner
We've said it many times before: if you walk, talk and scowl like a loser you're going to have luck like one.
That's why even when you feel like the
casino gods are playing some cruel joke on your wallet you can't let it show.
Players that stay motivated and optimistic generally don't kick the strategy that has always made them money and can pull out of some bad beats.
If losing becomes unbearable take a break, rest your brain for an hour, then get back at it when your spirits are up.
And definitely do not throw profanities at the dealer or anyone else nearby or you'll lose more than your chips, you'll lose your seat.
