BLACKJACK

• You can pull off a Straight, a Flush or even a Straight Flush.
• Three cards to a Royal Flush. A Royal Flush pays 1000:1 and more if you pop in that extra buck for the progressive jackpot. You’d be a fool not to let this one ride 'til your wallet gets diabetes.

Let it ride with four cards if you have:

• Three of a Kind. Can’t get any worse, can it? So stick with it until the end.
• Four of a Kind. Cash money right here, pays 50-1.
• Four cards to an Outside Straight. An Outside Straight is a Straight where the “outside” card is missing (example: 4, 5, 6, 7 with 8 missing). You have a better chance of hitting these rather than chasing an Inside Straight (example 4, 5, [missing 6] 7, 8). There are eight cards that can complete an Outside Straight whereas there are only four that can make you the inside win.

• Tread lightly with your wallet when playing this game. Caribbean Stud has a house edge of about 5.2 percent. That’s about on par with Roulette, a game that’s a crapshoot for most players.
• Raise if you have a pair or better as one pair pays 1:1 odds and can only get better.
• Always fold with less than the dealer’s qualifying hand (Ace and King).
• Make sure the progressive jackpot is worth your dollar. The house edge for Caribbean Stud is approximately 26.46 percent. And the chance of hitting a Royal Flush in Stud Poker is approximately 649,351 to 1. It’s not worth your buck if there’s only 10 grand in there.
