Superstitions and online casino gaming go hand in hand. We have seen couples who have been married for 25 years separate from each other in a casino because they thought their spouse was bad luck. We've seen those god-awful Treasure Trolls on top of people's slot machines; we're just thankful those naked little things with Don King hair aren't anatomically correct.
But there are more casinos superstitions than just hot-and-cold streaks and plastic dolls, we bring up some of the most popular ones to commemorate Friday the 13th.
Wearing the Color Red
There's a reason the color red is all over the place during the Chinese New Year. Many feel red is a good luck color; a color that will bring wealth to whomever puts it on their clothing. There is a side note to this superstition however. Although some say wearing red anywhere your body will help, others say red underwear is the way to go. So if you don't have any go shopping and get some Hanes on you.
Blowing the Dice Before Rolling
People don't blow into their hands to keep them warm while playing roulette, they do it for luck. Players feel that blowing on the dice, or getting someone else to do it will help the dice roll their way. Does it work? Probably not. Does it look cool when someone hot is blowing into your hand? Damn straight.
Don't Count your Money at the Table
We know it's hard not to do this when you're building a stack. But many suggest not to count your money. Because as soon as you do, that cash will disappear. Obviously this is hard when playing in an online casino. In that case we suggest simply not adding up your casino cash with the money in your Bodog account until you've cashed out.
Rabbit's Foot and Other Trinkets
If you find a real rabbit's foot be sure to steer clear of any PETA members. We don't now if rabbit's feet and horseshoes actually work, but if you're going to carry them make sure they're real. Many make the mistake of buying rabbit's feet keychains that are made of polyester and cotton.
Avoid Black Cats
This one's a universal superstition. If you happen to see a black cat on the way to a casino save your cash and turn that car around. If you happen to see one while playing online, turn off your CPU. If you own one, find a new hobby.
