Trying to find a great show in Vegas is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. Sure you can find “A” show fairly quickly, but there’s so much competition that it’s difficult to actually find a great one.
It doesn’t help that there’s usually dudes all on the strip trying to sell you tickets even if you’re a guy and all he’s got is Chippendales passes.
So how can you avoid showing up at Criss Angel’s god-awful Cirque Du Soleil show and actually pay for something good? We give you some of the best shows in Vegas.
“O” Cirque Du Soleil, Bellagio Hotel
It seems like every hotel in Vegas has its very own Cirque Du Soleil show going on, but “O” is the one that stands above the rest. “O” takes some of the best acrobats in the world and put them in and above gallons of water. If you’re looking to have you mind blown away (without the use of magic mushrooms) by aquatic artistry with synchronized swimmers and divers than “O” is the show for you.
“O" performs twice nightly at 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. There are no performances on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Danny Gans at Encore Hotel and Casino
Danny Gans has been dominating the Vegas scene for years and he’ll be unveiling a new show at the newest Hotel and Casino on the Strip: The Encore. Steve Wynn has made sure The Encore is one of the baddest venues in Vegas so expect Gans’ to blow you away if you’re able to get a ticket.
Clueless as to what is Gans’ heralded talent? He’s been called the “Man with many voices” able to re-create every star from Al Pacino to Ray Charles.
Penn and Teller at the Rio Hotel and Casino
If you’ve seen these two magicians and comedians on TV and enjoyed yourself, then you need to check their show out at the Rio.
Penn and Teller have been around forever because they are able to scare, gross-out and make you laugh all at the same time. They also love to show you how some of their illusions work, which is a nice change.
Blue Man Group at the Venetian Hotel and Casino
If you’re looking for one of the oddest shows you’ll ever see in your life check out the Blue Man Group at the Venetian.
The Blue Man Group combines music, comedy and multimedia theatrics while being covered in blue paint to produce a totally unique form of entertainment. We’re convinced these guys are actually aliens captured by some Vegas fat cat, as when the show’s over they stay 100 percent in character while signing autographs.
