Best of Vegas Part XV: Stripper Central

by Jake Gosselin | May 1 2007

We at Bodog wish to take this opportunity to impart what we consider to be crucial information regarding the Las Vegas nightlife. Before you make any plans in Sin City, it’s important that you know that there are certain bars or "clubs" in which women dance without their clothes on. It sounds crazy we know! But we've done the necessary field research and even have photographic evidence proving this to be true.

For those of you who have been to Vegas you might have already had this information revealed to you by one of Sin City's many gregarious cab drivers. But be warned, the cabbies are paid to lure you to specific destinations. Does that mean those places are necessarily bad? No, but you should be prepared with your own strip club info, to make your own decisions instead of letting Rocco the cabbie push you into getting dropped off at somewhere like The Crusty Wench, or The Rusty Clam.

So for those who want to break up their casino time and know that while it's fun to play blackjack for a while, you might want to change things up with some time away from the tables.

5. The Palomino Club

The Palomino Club is a decent strip club with a long history with that old Vegas feel. But what really sets it apart , and what got it onto this list, is the fact that it's the only strip club in all of Las Vegas that is all-nude and serves alcohol. Hard to believe that in Sin City such a natural combination should be so rare, but it's true.

The women at the Palomino club are… diverse. You never fully know what to expect but if you're in Vegas, you’re probably up for a little gambling anyway.

The Palomino is well off the Strip, but not to worry, they have a free shuttle service running to and from the club. Which of course is a classic way to travel to a strip club. "Hey kids! Load up grandma, we're heading to the Palomino!"

4. The Library

The Library is an easy-going and relaxed strip club. The women are never pushy, it's spacious and books line the shelves of the entrance so if you get bored of watching Chesty LaRue, you can always curl up with Emily Bronte. You would of course, be the first person in the history of the world to make that decision, but still, the option's there for you.

Vegas StripperOne of the best things about The Library is paying, especially if you're married. You can run a tab and put the drinks on your credit card. Then when you get home and your wife is going over your Visa statement you can finally prove to her that, yes, you did indeed spend most of your time at the library while you were in Vegas. Hopefully she won’t wonder how you spent $2,000 in three days while there.

3. Cheetah’s

As the site used for the film Showgirls, Cheetah's is a classic Las Vegas strip club. It's filled with neon lights and every form of topless entertainment you can imagine (and a few that you probably can't). And where the Spearmint Rhino and Club Paradise double as strip clubs and hip night clubs, Cheetah's has the added value of being a decent sports lounge filled with TVs.

Of course you are probably aghast at the mere mention of watching television while topless women parade around you. But the truth is for many of us who love NBA betting and who perhaps just put $200 on the Spurs to win, might want an occasional peek at the game. Is this not the ultimate dream combination: topless women, booze and sports betting? Can I get an Amen? Can I hear a hallelujah?

2. Club Paradise

Have you ever been to a Cirque du Soleil performance and thought to yourself, "This would be a whole lot better if the women were topless." Well if so, you're not alone. At Club Paradise they've thought along the same lines with various special performances by former Cirque du Soleil performers doing their acrobatic thing while dangling from long silk curtains, but with the added twist of being topless. Hurray for topless acrobats!

Las Vegas StripperWith a great location directly across from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Club Paradise is a strip club with style. Like the Spearmint Rhino it's as much of a night club as it is a strip joint, so much so that you can expect to see a good amount of female clientele, which is always a good sign as the seedier strip clubs are rarely attended by women.

The dancers and waitresses here are beautiful, especially during peak season and on nights when there are specialty shows, which is every Wednesday through Saturday.

If you're looking to shave some of the cost off the cover charge, most cabbies will have discounted entry passes, or if you're staying at the Hard Rock, check with the concierge who might be able to swing you some free passes.

1. Spearmint Rhino

For those in the know, it should come as no surprise that the Spearmint Rhino is sitting at the top of this list. As strip clubs go, the Rhino is much classier than your average den of debauchery. It is one of the flag ship locations of this UK based chain and it really has the total package of what is looked for by most in a strip club.

The Spearmint Rhino takes very smart approach to competing in the strip club industry. It goes out of its way to make itself a reputable night-spot in general with a hip and elegant atmosphere with extremely attentive and congenial staff and management. It also doesn’t hurt that the Rhino managed to find some of the most beautiful women in the world to work there.

The Rhino is also one of the few strip clubs that can boast regular visits from celebrities, and not just Robert Downey Jr. stumbling in and passing out in the VIP Room, but as a regular hotspot for people like George Clooney and Howard Stern.

There is one major flaw with the Spearmint Rhino that you'll want to be aware of: it's very popular. Lineups tend to be long so plan ahead and get there early. It's open 24/7 so you can head over at 8 a.m. for waffles and a lap dance if that's your sort of thing.

That's it. You're now armed with the highest quality Las Vegas strip club data from the Naked Woman Research Department / Stripper Think Tank that is Bodog. Go now, and enjoy the fruits of our labor. Ok, it wasn't really labor. It was more like a drunken weekend of madness and debauchery. We would tell you more but what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Right? Well everything stays in Vegas except for that nasty infection one of the sports writers got, but other than that, it all stays in Vegas.
