5 Good Reasons to Play Tri-Card Poker

How the heck do you play poker with three cards? We know that’s what some of you new casino players (or Texas Holdem veterans) are probably thinking whenever you see Tri-Card Poker in Bodog’s online casino.

Poker Without Complications
We’re not sure if you’re going to get a more uncomplicated game of poker than this. Once you place a bet (for $1, $5, $25, $100, or $500) you’re dealt three cards face up while the dealer gets three cards face down. If you feel your hand can beat the dealer’s hand you can double your bet by “raising.” If you feel your hand can’t beat his, you “fold.”

That’s the gist of it. It’s refreshing having the ability to enjoy a game of poker without having to read any Doyle Brunson books, isn’t it?

It’s One on One
You vs. the dealer, that’s it. You won’t be facing any cocky college student trying to act like Matt Damon from Rounders. And you won’t have to read some douche in tinted shades and a cowboy hat. Just decide whether you think your hand is better than the dealers, then “raise” or “fold.” Although it can be fun matching your poker skills with a human opponent, sometimes it’s nice to not deal with the smarmy attitude that usually comes with them.

Pairs (or Better) Pay Off
You can do more than just double your winnings in a hand of Tri-Card Poker. Before the dealer gives you your cards you can place a bet in a section called Pair Plus. If you bet on Pair Plus and are dealt a pair or better you win extra cash! One pair pays 1-1, a flush pays 4-1, a straight pays 6-1, three of a kind pays 30-1, and a straight flush pays 40-1. Best part is, because you only receive three cards, you won’t require as many cards to make the tougher hands (like a straight or straight flush).

Quicker than Any Poker Game
How many times have you gone all-in in Holdem and had to wait 20 minutes for your opponent to make up his mind? Yeah, you won’t have that problem here. The CPU dealer will not waste your time. Tri-Card is a fast game that’ll allow you to have some quick fun while downing your morning latte.

The Dealer Has to Qualify
How many times can you win at poker and win with 10 high? Not many. But it’s fully possible in Tri-Card. The dealer has to have at least a Queen as his high card or the player automatically wins his Ante wager.
